It offers a wide range of starters from a central table, pick your main course and a selection of deserts. Pre book as can be busy during the summer and at weekends. O’Sullivans Shop and Post Office (027 67001) is a local shop, petrol pump. Has an old world atmosphere and limited lunch food. They take evening bookings in summer. (inexpensive)
Bantry
The Fish Kitchen, New St (027 50062) Best for local Fresh Fish, for lunch or dinner but small so needs to be booked for evening meals. (medium-priced)
O’Connors Restaurant, The Square (027 55664) Had a range of lunchtime and Evening meals – a nice place for a long evening meal. (medium priced)
The Stuffed Olive – Bridge St (027 55883) does great coffee and cakes with limited seating, a great stop when shopping. (inexpensive)
Organico Cafe, Glengariff Road (027 51391) has the best Vegetarian Restaurant in West Cork – lovely food, cakes and coffee. Gluten Free and other dietary needs catered for. (inexpensive)
Moghul Indian Restaurant, Barrick St (027 55799) Has a wide range of Indian dishes to eat in or take away. Has Gluten Free options (inexpensive)
Mannings Ballylicky, – 4km beyond Bantry on the way to Glengarriff this shop and cafe has a great selection of local cheese and meat. Nice place for lunch or a cup of coffee. (inexpensive)
Ahakista
Arundels By the Pier (027 67033) Bar and Seafood Restaurant on the other side of the bay (10 minute drive), pre-book. (medium priced)
Goleen
The Heron’s Cove Restaurant (028 35225) has an extensive menu including plenty of fish. Ask for a table overlooking the bay; can be open for lunch in high summer. (expensive)
Ballydehob

Antonio’s Restaurant (028 37139) Our local Italian is one of the most popular places to eat in West Cork so book ahead, especially at weekends. Open in the evenings from 6pm, Tue – Sat, is child friendly, does take away pizzas which can be ordered and picked up 15 mins later. (inexpensive)
Budds Restaurant, Ballydehob (028 25842) Has breakfast, lunch and dinner with vegetarian options and a variety of local foods. (inexpensive)
Island Cottage Restaurant, Hare Island (028 38102) Book in advance for the most unusual restaurant in Ireland. There is no menu choice as the chef decides what high quality food he will cook each evening. One set price for the evening meal and get a ferry from mainland (between Ballydehob and Skibberreen). (expensive)

Newman’s West Cafe Bar and Hacketts Bar in Schull have good coffee and soup at lunchtime. (inexpensive)
The Bunratty Inn Schull (028 28341) The pub at tip of the Main street has an open fire, filling dishes up to 8pm on weekdays and 4pm on Sundays. Parking up behind pub in a carpark and enter through back of pub. (inexpensive)
Skibbereen
Fields Cafe, in the same building as the large supermarket. Has great cakes and coffee, and a toilet upstairs. (inexpensive)

Crookhaven
O’Sullivans Bar (028 35200) This West Cork institution is at the pier in Crookhaven, has great seafood sandwiches, smoked Salmon and brown bread and other bar food up to 5pm. Kid friendly. (inexpensive)
Baltimore
La Jolie Brise Restaurant (028 20529) is a Breton run Pizza and Seafood restaurant. The limited menu is tasty and filling, especially if you are waiting for a ferry to Sherkin or Cape Clear. (inexpensive)
